Constructivism is the focus on big ideas which had been inspired by the work done in Reggio Emilia (Chaille, 2008). Constructivism was founded by the theorist Vygotsky in the year 1995 (Chaille, 2008).The definition mentioned in the book “Constructivism across the Curriculum in Early Childhood Classrooms” is a theory of learning, that children are their own learners and they contrast their own knowledge and ideas with the interactions and experiences they have experienced around their social surrounding and environment.
